In our final chapter on the year in cinema for 1999 we watch the epic in length (and in frogs and misogyny as is the standard combination) MAGNOLIA from Paul Thomas Anderson and his mostly returning cast from BOOGIE NIGHTS. What this film lacks in pornography it makes up for in Tom Cruise. A more than fair trade. Happy 2025 everyone and on to the next Movie Book Club!
